As I said earlier, @RealDJKaySlay would have his turn to speak on Jay Electronica sounding off about what Slay had to say in regards to his interview about RZA. Slay’s stance is that Jay needs to silence his rehashing of feelings from the past and naming artists from the south that up north rappers can’t shut down. He goes on to say that he respects Jay as a lyricist but he needs to show more respect to New York as the Hip-Hop Mecca. At the end, The Drama King challenges Jay directly for listing rappers in the south who are dominant, naming New York rappers who he feels could square off against the New Orleans emcee. Yikes.
Editor’s Note: I respect and know both these cats so I hope there’s a civil ending to this.

[...] First Jay dropped some thoughts, no hatred really, towards RZA amongst other things. Kay Slay, however, took it apparently as extreme disrespect … maybe i’m missing something, but as far as i have discovered Eletronica only speaks knowledge and truth (andre 3000 would do work on the rappers kay replied with), with no negative under-tone in between. Kay Slay: “Like you(Jay Elect) named rappers.. i can name 5 rappers from the street that i’d put on the stage with ANYbody you wanna bring to the table; cory gunz, joell ortiz, serius jones, papoose, jadakiss..” Download: Kay Slay Fires Back @ Jay Electronica Response to RZA Download: Jay Eletronica Responds to Kay Slay’s Comments props ddot [...]

Basically, based on this commentary from Kay Slay, he’s got an issue with Jay Electronica because he didn’t come freestyle for him and show respect to him when he arrived to New York City. I got love for the DJ but this right here is retarded. If you offended by what Jay Elec rhymed about maybe you should be looking in a mirror. If it takes a Southern cat to straighten New York up and make them hungry so be it. Fuckers got lazy with hip-hop, that’s why we lost interest.

hey dipsh*ts he was talking about a video where jay electronica is talking shit about new york and saying how no cats in nyc can see t.i and ludacris. Get your facts str8, and if you on some fuk new york shit then fuk the south

It’s just not N.Y but most cats can’t see Ludacris. It’s truth. T.I on the other hand is debatable. Especially since he’s been so influenced by Jay-Z.
I’m not on no fuck N.Y shit but when N.Y was on top it ran itself into the ground because it got trite, boring, & repetitive. It had no challengers until it got it’s crown snatched. This isn’t a new thing. It happens to every coast. Happened to the West Coast too. South will lose it’s steam soon enough.
I’m from the Mid-West we’re we been pumping straight heat for years. Granted most of it never got any shine until Ye but aye we ain’t bitching like babies.
But, if you listen to what he said, he was offended that Jay Elec didn’t come pay him a visit.

[...] Kay Slay has already fired back in response to Jay Electronica’s comments from last night’s appearance on Angela Yee’s Lip Service show. He claims while he respects Jay as a lyricist, Jay needs to show more respect to NY as Hip hop’s Mecca. He concludes by listing NY rappers he feels could square off against Jay Elect. Facts straight?

Stop getting sensitive. Hip-hop grew up and moved to the rest of the world. NY is becoming more or a relic every year that goes by.
