Like I said earlier, rap is very interesting right now. Earlier, Rick Ross made the announcement that his MMG stable has moved from Warner music over to Atlantic. Now, a press release comes through stating that Young Jeezy’s CTE World imprint is in the same house that Lyor built under the direction of Craig Kallman. Jizzle also gave his best wishes to Freddie Gibbs, who revealed he has parted ways with CTE. Read below. Its Tha World mixtape drops tomorrow.
Jeezy announces his new venture, CTE World/Atlantic Records. The imprint is dedicated to the commitment of finding, developing and launching the careers of new talent on a worldwide platform.
When asked today about the split between himself and former CTE affiliate Freddie Gibbs, he replied, “Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures. I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.”
The new imprint will function under Young Jeezy’s direction in association with Atlantic Records chairman, Craig Kallman.
Jeezy says, “This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it. This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”
