D’Angelo Arrested For Soliciting Sex To Under Cover Cop

It would seem as if one of R&B’s best and brightest has been busted and not in the way he planned after he allegedly asked a under cover female officer for oral sex. Reports say he believed the woman to be a prostitute which landed him in this predicament.

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village — with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.

D’Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said.

According to the City Paper, melee broke out after some civilians pelted a passing Hummer on 14th and U ST NW DC. The vehicle stopped and out comes a man wielding a pistol at an unarmed crowd.

In the video above the p~~rick~~olice officer identifies himself (eventually) as Detective Baylor. The other officers on duty do nothing about it but harass on lookers and witnesses.

Jay Electronica x Mos Def x Curren$y To Release Collective Album

Thanks to @JayElectronica @Currensy_Spita and Mos Def, hip-hop might win again in the near future. If you pay attention to Jay Man’s tweets, you’d seen he’s been in contact with Currensy online. Apparently the two met, along with Black Dante with the help of Dame Dash (of all people) and are now forming a group called “Center Edged Territory“. CRAZY! READ!

“Just chillin’” with Dame Dash may have just spawned a rap supergroup project. On Wednesday, at Dash’s new facility (art gallery, TV studio, music studio and more), DD172, critically acclaimed underground lyricist Curren$y told MTV News that he, Jay Electronica and Mos Def have combined forces to start recording an entire album together.

“That’s ridiculous!” Curren$y said. “Jay Electronica is from my city, he’s from New Orleans. I never met homie until I stepped foot in this building. He came here to meet Mos. And Mos, I had only known him for 24 hours prior to that. But genuine people could recognize [each other], it was like, ‘Let’s go.’ ”

Curren$y said Mos came up with the name of “Center Edge Territory” for the trio. When asked exactly what the moniker means, Curren$y would only comment emphatically, “Everything! That’s everything!

“We all know the game is in turmoil. We know the machine messed it up,” he added, explaining why they will be putting their music out independently instead of with a major label. “We know we don’t even need to play that game, especially with access to all of this sh–. We are our own machine.”

So far, Center Edge Territory have recorded six records together, but they have no concrete plans as to when the full-length album will drop.

“The funny thing, it came from just chilling,” Dash said. “If you’re gonna be here [at DD172], there’s no hanging out.

“There’s no reason to be here unless you have the ability to work or you’re working,” Dash explained of the space Mos nicknamed of the “24-Hour Karate School.” “This is like an office where you work in a different way.”

Soulja Boy Arrested For Obstruction Of Justice

Rap star Soulja Boy was arrested in Georgia Wednesday night after authorities say he ran from a police officer.

According to a police spokesperson, an officer got a call about juveniles hanging out at an abandoned house in the Henry County area.

Cops say when the officer rolled up to the home, he saw some women walking towards the yard and asked them to stop — but when they didn’t, he followed them into the yard.

The officer says when he walked inside, he saw roughly 40 people in the yard — and when they saw the cop, half of the people immediately booked it out of the home, including Soulja Boy.

The people who stayed in the party claimed they were at the house for a “music video shoot.”

The cop says Soulja eventually returned to the home to retrieve his Range Rover — and that’s when he was arrested for obstruction of justice … a misdemeanor.

Another man was arrested during the incident for forgery — cops tell us the suspect had eight counterfeit $100 bills.

Soulja Boy, real name Deandre Cortez Way, was taken to jail and released.
